We
had a test last week and one of the BIGGEST problems I have is getting
students who didn't do well to be sure to come in for a makeup. They can
raise their grade UP TO an 80% (B-) on the makeup, but they have to show up
for it. The makeup will probably be given on FRIDAY. Check with your student
about whether s/he needs to take it. The average on the test this year was a C+, so there are a number of kids who could benefit from the makeup. NOTE: Because only 50% of their grade comes from tests & quizzes this quarter, if your student got a D or F on this test their grade may still be in the B range. . . In 7th grade, the temptation will be to hide the test grade from you in the belief that it won't happen again. However, chances are, if it happened once it'll happen again. The class isn't going to get easier in the next two months. SUGGESTION: Checking in with your student can help him/her confront reality before their grade gets to a crisis point. |
