Welcome to Room 12! My name is Katharine Kobayashi and I am your child's teacher this year. I am looking forward to getting to know you and your child. I eagerly anticipate an exciting year full of sharing, caring, fun and learning!

I attended the University of California, Davis and double majored in psychology and communication. Thereafter, I was hired by Japanese government's Ministry of Education and taught English and social studies in Hiroshima City, Japan. After coming back home to the San Francisco, Bay Area I attended San Jose State University's Critical Research Academy and completed my teaching credential (K-8) and my Master's Degree in Elementary Education.

In June 2004, I married Frank Kobayashi at the Mountain Winery (aka Paul Mason Winery) in Saratoga, California.

Shortly after, we adopted our first dog, Charlee. Charlee is a Jack-A-Poo (Jack Russell Terrier/Miniature Poodle Mix).

Besides teaching and my family, my other love is to TRAVEL!!! I have been to all 50 states in the USA, and the following countries: New Zealand, Australia, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Uruguay, Japan, China, Hong Kong, South Korea, North Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Mexico and Canada. Some day, I hope to go to all the countries in Europe, Egypt, South Africa, Kenya and Russia.
