About Mr. Morris

I am beginning my seventeenth year of teaching in California public schools where I have taught kindergarten, first and second grade. I have taught primary grade curriculum in Spanish and English as my assignments have included bilingual, dual immersion and English immersion classrooms. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy, a Bilingual Cross-Cultural Specialist Teaching Credential, a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and a Master’s Degree in Bilingual Cross-Cultural Education. I speak, read and write Spanish.

My professional interests and areas of expertise are:

Integrated thematic instruction based on rich science and social studies themes
Creative projects that involve and motivate children
Second language acquisition and the understanding and appreciation of world cultures
Experiential, manipulative based mathematics
Early literacy development
Involving parents in their children’s education
Play the guitar and sing children’s songs composed by artists such as Woody Guthrie, Raffi and Ella Jenkins
